WE'VE GOT SCHOOL SPIRIT!

With the first term of the school year in full swing, and the first few weeks going off without a hitch, clubs, intramural teams and official sports teams at both Crux Academy and Nebulae Institute have begun meeting for the first time. With a wide number of different extra curricular and other various things to do around campus outside of class, students are highly encouraged to take part in one or multiple goings-on around their school. Both schools will be hosting an involvement fair (at different times, conveniently enough) in order to bolster enrollment in the various clubs or teams, and students are encouraged to at least give these different opportunities a try.

Not seeing a club or organization that catches your fancy? That's all right! Just make one yourself. So long as you have enough members (neither school has gone into too much detail about what constitutes "enough"), and are willing to share--or fight for, as the case may be--club room or field space, then you're set!

Interested in taking a more responsible approach? Various businesses around Galactica have begun hiring part time students. While many of the jobs are more than willing to take on Crux students, there are a few establishments that seem to prefer the cunning ways of Nebulae's student body. These jobs run the gamut between retail, babysitting, hospitality--really anything.

Additionally, the vocational school for monsters is looking for assistance in getting their students real-world experience. Be it helping them terrorize the town or giving them something to fight, this volunteer work is easy enough to find, and a good way to get some real world experience. Participation is highly encouraged.

[ Bringing in stuff to decorate her booth sounds too much like effort, so the Crux Academy Track Team's showing at this club fair consists of a sign with their name on it and...Haruka.

Who is leaning against the wall next to the sign with her arms crossed and her eyes closed. She seems to sense whenever there are Crux students passing by, however, and speaks up. ] Excuse me.

[ She lifts her gaze to them. If she's speaking to girls, a smile touches her face. ] I've been looking for someone like you.

[ Why is the air so full of glitter over here? Did a magical girl battle take place?

Not quite! When told they'd need to promote their activities, the newest Cooking Club member has decided to host a Princess Tea Party! Come enjoy nothing but the finest of teas and the most delightfully light and fancy of confections, paired flawlessly by your hostess, Towa. Who looks pleased as punch to be here. This is something she knows how to do! She can use her skills to promote her club! ]

[ option b - in galactica ]

[ Did you know Galactica has its own chain of fake-hipster coffeeshops?! In support of the nearby school, it's called Starcrux, and they're hiring! Aggressively! There's a manager outside shoving flyers at people and hurrying unsuspecting students inside to fill out application paperwork!

Their most recent victim is running about attempting to fix six different drinks on her own right now. ] Good day! In what might I interest y---ah!

[ Towa is not usually clumsy. But the tea party she'd hosted is really much more of a Princess's speed than this.

[ option a - crux academy involvement fair ]

[ Woe betide anyone who's trying to hand out fliers to promote tbeir organization at this fair (and anyone who attempts to receive one). Faster than the human eye can track, a hand darts out of seemingly nowhere and replaces that flier with one for the Nebulae Institute Go Club. You've been Sion'd.

Ignoring the person trying to hand out their own fliers, she addresses the would-be recruit. ] Reading the opponent's moves is a key feature of combat. Join me and whet your competitive spirit as our schools battle for superiority! "Springtime of youth"!

[ option b - nebulae institute involvement fair ]

[ Fully half of the fair has now been occupied by a 19X19 grid drawn in tape on the floor. Dozens and dozens of tiny panda mascots - all white on one side of the grid, all black on the other - crowd the edges waiting their turn to be told where to stand on the "board".

Lording over all of this is Sion, calling placements to both sides as a demonstration. ] 4-4. 17-16. 16-4.

[ A small table set up with various books on Go also features a sign claiming parties interested in the Go club can solve sample puzzles for prizes. ]

[ option c - galactica ]

[ A giant soccer ball is terrorizing the city! It's rolling down the street, disrupting traffic, and generally making a nuisance of itself in the hopes that someone will come see what all the fuss is about.

And riding atop it, sitting in formal seiza style with her arms crossed, is Sion. How's she staying balanced? They aren't magical girls for nothing. ] "Needle in a haystack"! An ally this worthy is rare indeed!

Huh? [Kirie blinks, coming to a stop. Were it not for Haruka speaking up it was pretty clear she was going to completely pass the Track Team 'booth' without so much of a glance. It didn't grab attention so it was easy to not even notice it. Such a lack of effort...]

Like me? [She can't help but point to herself as her cheeks light up for a moment. Those words and that smile...Wow Such flattery!]

I can't say there are many people like me. But its nice of you to notice.

[Kirie returns the smile with one of her own and places her hands on her hips; standing proud.]

We're looking for people who aim for the sky. [ Haruka approaches. Her smile only improves at close range. In fact, the air seems to sparkle around her. ] How about it, kitten? Won't you fly with me?

[ Rose petals might drift across the scene. Or maybe they're imaginary. ]

[This is so sudden. Kirie flails a bit but can't tear her eyes away. How does someone make everything around them seem so dazzling so instantly? Magic? Natural charm? That lazy booth was a trap! It didn't reflect this at all!!]

K-Kitten? Fly? With you? H-haaa... [She repeats, nervously laughing.]

When you put it that way running on a field and jumping hurls doesn't really come to mind as 'flying'.

Do you have any experience? [ The discrepancy between how Haruka chooses to advertise and what Haruka's team will be doing does not appear to make an impression on her. ]

[ Leaving the cups she'd been working with alone, Towa hurries around to the other side of the counter with a towel in hand. She'll dab at the coffee all over Kamala if the other girl lets her. ] Were you injured??

[Through gritted teeth, she shook her head as Kamala let Towa dab at her.] N-no, it was more of a shock than anything else. The coffee wasn't THAT hot.

[It stung, but it wasn't full on burns. Her skin was a bit red though.]

Not...with the actual sport of it.

I had training exercises. When you're fighting things there's always going to be dashing and jumping so of course you have to practice.

[But that wasn't actual track.]

But, sport of that can't be too difficult... Just how good are you?

[ Hah. Haruka cocks her chin up. ] Are you challenging the teacher?

[ The teacher does not seem upset by this.

Instead, the teacher looks interested. And amused.

Incidentally she's a teacher she's bad at mentioning that. ]

This is completely impermissible of me. [ Towa still looks worried. She finishes cleaning up as best she can. ] Please, if your clothes need laundering, I can cover the costs....and I'll cover your order, should you still wish to....

[ Has she cost this organization a sale in addition to inconveniencing this girl? Dear her. Towa hopes she isn't completely unsuited for being an employee. This was going to be such a big step for her! ]

T-Teacher...? [Kirie blinks at that; notably looking Haruka up and down in suspicion. She doesn't try to hide it either. Surely their ages aren't that far apart? Is Haruka really a teacher]

I...I didn't know you were a teacher...!! But that doesn't change anything!

[Kirie lifts her head up, a confident smirk pulling at her lips]

Frankly I rely on my instincts so teacher or not; I'll still take you on.

No, no, it's fine. This is an old shirt and pants anyhow, so it's not like it was a major problem. [Really, the only problem was that Kamala was sticky now from the drinks.]

I'll just need to wash up, it's fine!

[ Good answer. Haruka matches that expression. Too bad the fair won't be over for a while, but it's not like she has anything better to do... ] Very well.

[ Here, have a clipboard to sign up for the track and field team. ] Tomorrow, after class. I'll be counting on you to impress me, kitten.

[ She frowns a bit at the clip board. Really there were no plans at all to sign up for some lame track class. (Rose petals or not) Challenging Haruka was all she really wanted to do--]

I'll do more then that!

[Really that's all it takes to make her quickly scribble 'Kirie Konami' on the sign sheet before pushing the clipboard back to Haruka. She felt like she was being tricked somehow!]

Ah, the washroom's in the back.... [ Towa gestures as solicitously as she can to the back, then turns her attention to the coffee on the floor. ] I'll move your order to the front of the queue just as soon as you're ready!

[ There's grumbling from the customers around her at that, though, and Towa looks down at the floor with a somewhat discouraged expression. Even when she tries to be thoughtful, she really is doing this poorly. ]

[Admittedly Kamala felt bad for Towa, as she went and cleaned up. Coming out of the room however, she noticed that the floor hadn't been cleaned up yet. Grabbing the nearby mop, she began to help out.]

You can serve these people while I finish up here, okay?

[ Hey, you get your challenge. Haruka gets an eager track member. As far as she's concerned, everybody wins. She takes back her clipboard with a smile. ] I'll look forward to it.

[ And she sounds like she means it. Very sincerely indeed. ]

[Okay well...what's done is done and now that that is settled.][She leans towards Haruka curiously, arms crossed]

[ Lux wasn't looking for a new club at the moment, but after manning her booth for a few hours, she was finally allowed a break. Walking around the square, taking in the various clubs' showings. There were a lot more this year than in the past, it seems.

Hearing someone call out to her, the blond blinks a few times, turning. Hey, isn't that..? ]

Huh? Are you talking to me?

[ What a poised response. 10/10 ]

Involvement Fair + On the Town

[ Lux loved the involvement fair. It was a chance to bring in some new blood to the various clubs that she was a part of, and while one of them (Lacrosse) was not actively recruiting, color guard was always on guard (/rimshot) for interested parties. A few students stood at the booth, decorated with the school's colors, pictures from previous performances, and various pieces of equipment used, Lux had taken to standing by, idly twirling one of the batons.

Quite well, in fact.

She didn't mean to be a show off, she really didn't, but a natural staff user herself, it was like an extension of her own arm, and after a while, she started to get a bit more showy with her movements. Turns, flourishes, tosses, all executed with perfect poise and beauty, she hardly noticed that she was drawing a crowd until, after a particularly high toss, the small crowd applauded.

Laughing a bit awkwardly, she took a small bow. Whoops. Well, at least they were getting attention? ]

[ After a particularly frustrating encounter with another Runeterra local, the cafe practically begged her to take a waitress position. Hearing that they were extremely short staffed, she was guilted into the job couldn't just say no.

So, dressed in her new uniform, Lux's life as a career woman (sort of) at the Delish Bliss cafe was assured. It was her first day solo on the job, and customers were generally very understanding. Please go easy on her! ]

Hi there. I'll be your waitress today. Are you ready to order?

Yes, I should thank you for that. Apparently they saw that I am actually willing and able to deal with trouble customers and offered me the job on the spot.
