NEW BEGINNINGS

Spring is here and newest crop of students have finally arrived at Crux Academy and Nebulae Institute. Both campuses are abuzz with activity as first years filter in, some confused, others excited and honored to be attending such a prestigious institution. Class assignments would be found on the large bulletin board toward the front of campus, and while some friends may find themselves once again sharing the same class, others will be given the opportunity to nurture new relationships with future friends (or enemies).

Classes for the first day will be short, punctuated by a welcoming ceremony led by each school's respective headmaster and headmistress, as well as an upperclassman that has some significance to the rest of the student body. Students are then permitted to take the rest of the day for themselves, to get acclimated to the campus as well as Galactica, should they so choose. Why not explore the school? Take a trip into the city? Or perhaps get to know your dorm mate, classmates or fellow faculty members? Or perhaps, if you are that sort of person, terrorize the town? The choice is yours.

Um, there there? [Said Ban, patting her on the head.] It's not the end of the world. Yet, I think.

For me it is the end of a thousand worlds full of magic and giant robots and fan fiction...

[Konata is not a child per se, but the headpat somehow manages to calm her amidst her whimpers. Looking up, Konata is at least comforted by the sight of a cute guy attending her.]

Have you had a collection so big and wonderful you could stare at it and feel wonderful about having it? I left my stuff back home...

[So she amps up her desire for attention.]

Sounds like one of my mangas...

[He grinned a little.] Well not to brag, but I've collected some stuff before once my mom realized I was a artist at heart. I made a manga about the Precure and I was chosen by a magazine to run my stories in there.

Hnnnn.... really? Why, you look too good to be a manga artist! I've heard making manga is a tiring job, but you don't look that bad.

[Konata rubs her chin at the sight of this boy admitting he's as much of a fan of manga as she is.]

I would like to read that someday, though! I'm not that big on magical girls, but it'd be useful to read more now that I am one. My name is Konata Izumi. What's yours?

[He chuckled at that.] I've been known to pull some all nighters at times. Trust me.

[Nodding, Ban said,] Kenji Ban, nice to meet you. Konata is it? I'm okay with that?

[Konata brings a thumbs up for being a fellow all-nighter, whistle and all!]

Nice to meet you! I didn't think I'd see many boys in this job, but tell me what your favorite animes are. Maybe I can help you ink manga during one of these nights.

[And probably and completely fail at doing anything.]

Hmm... I'd have to admit, that my top favorite show right now is Nijiyome Academy Z-Cune Aoi, but at the same time I also enjoy more shounen stuff. Though that is more like Rampart Heroes, the classic Tokusatsu stuff.
