NEW BEGINNINGS

Spring is here and newest crop of students have finally arrived at Crux Academy and Nebulae Institute. Both campuses are abuzz with activity as first years filter in, some confused, others excited and honored to be attending such a prestigious institution. Class assignments would be found on the large bulletin board toward the front of campus, and while some friends may find themselves once again sharing the same class, others will be given the opportunity to nurture new relationships with future friends (or enemies).

Classes for the first day will be short, punctuated by a welcoming ceremony led by each school's respective headmaster and headmistress, as well as an upperclassman that has some significance to the rest of the student body. Students are then permitted to take the rest of the day for themselves, to get acclimated to the campus as well as Galactica, should they so choose. Why not explore the school? Take a trip into the city? Or perhaps get to know your dorm mate, classmates or fellow faculty members? Or perhaps, if you are that sort of person, terrorize the town? The choice is yours.

The City - Battle

[Just as Konata left the bakery with a choco-cornet she intended to eat, a shockwave of dust spread over the wall right next to the pastry shop, enveloping the tiny blue puffball just as she was about to take the first bite -- and disappeared in the cloud of dust and shattered brick and concrete that filled the air.

There were no coughs, no notices that anybody would have been harmed. In fact, as the dust settled, Konata was standing just beside the gigantic monster right next to the meter-and-half blue-haired puffball.

The thing was, there had been a casualty. Her choco-cornet laid on the ground, ruined.]

[Oh crap did she hit someone? No, good.

The bad news is that the girl looked devastated and Ms Marvel ran over, all in her tall superhero-y appearance.]

You okay? I'm so sorry!

[In front of the small girl, Konata looked at the splashed, gooey remains of her choco-cornet that died in the flower of its youth.]

Rest in peace, lovely choco-cornet. You died too young and unable to be tasted...

[Konata looked up, and-- whoa. Upper. Patricia had nothing on this superheroine. The rumbling of bricks beside her reminded her this was a classic city brawl, after all.]

I want revenge. And a new choco-cornet after this since you took it from me.

Ah yeah, sorry bout that. I'll buy you a new one since the monster's down now.

[Considering it didn't seem like it was getting up but hmm...

Yeah, it's not moving yet. Must have hit it harder than she thought.]

[Konata lifts her face to look at Kamala.

Then mooooooves close to inspect her face as the dust settles.]

Do we know eachother? You do look a little familiar if you are to buy me a new chococornet.

[Unbeknown to Konata, another monster shifted slowly in place.]

[Kamala sweated nervously at the question and held up her hands.] Um, no we don't but, I figure it's something I should do.

[Despite the outward appearance being Carol, her voice was still Kamala.]

I'll get you food soon, don't worry.

My name is Konata Izumi! Sup! I'm also known as Crystal Sapphire Fairy. I have a lot of doujinshi about me where I come from!

[Which... Konata speaks with more pride than she should have.]

We can get food together, but I know how we can pay for a new meal to make up for the loss of that chococornet, and we can agree on it.

[Another of these monsters rumbles from beneath the streets, and appears! Meters above the defeated companion, and with the form of a caterpillar, Konata proudly brings her wand up.]

WE'LL MAKE HIM PAY WITH HIS BLOOD!

[Cue Konata's transformation sequence into a being of happiness and joy and justice.]

[Not her, Carol, but she was trying to hide her identity still.]

[She blinked curiously at the surprise arrival of the monsters, but Konata's exclamation made her jump.]

Well all right, sounds good to--whoa.

[That's a sparkly transformation.]

[There were more sparkles than there would have ever thought to be physically possible, or legally allowed. A frilly blue and white skirt formed, an elaborate dance took place, and the lights that seemingly come out of nowhere dedicated just for her.

With the stock transformation sequence finished, she was armed like a heavenly angel with her white and blue skirt, her graceful wand, and an M134 Minigun.]

Now, now. What are your powers? I avoid collateral damage whenever I can, so don't worry about me. I can use a chainsaw if you want, too! No use in risking it, you know?

Ah, well I can grow, and shrink and expand parts of my body and use the kinetic force behind it.

[Said monsters were getting up. And holy crap was that a minigun?] So if you're game with some punching and stuff...
