WE'VE GOT SCHOOL SPIRIT!

With the first term of the school year in full swing, and the first few weeks going off without a hitch, clubs, intramural teams and official sports teams at both Crux Academy and Nebulae Institute have begun meeting for the first time. With a wide number of different extra curricular and other various things to do around campus outside of class, students are highly encouraged to take part in one or multiple goings-on around their school. Both schools will be hosting an involvement fair (at different times, conveniently enough) in order to bolster enrollment in the various clubs or teams, and students are encouraged to at least give these different opportunities a try.

Not seeing a club or organization that catches your fancy? That's all right! Just make one yourself. So long as you have enough members (neither school has gone into too much detail about what constitutes "enough"), and are willing to share--or fight for, as the case may be--club room or field space, then you're set!

Interested in taking a more responsible approach? Various businesses around Galactica have begun hiring part time students. While many of the jobs are more than willing to take on Crux students, there are a few establishments that seem to prefer the cunning ways of Nebulae's student body. These jobs run the gamut between retail, babysitting, hospitality--really anything.

Additionally, the vocational school for monsters is looking for assistance in getting their students real-world experience. Be it helping them terrorize the town or giving them something to fight, this volunteer work is easy enough to find, and a good way to get some real world experience. Participation is highly encouraged.

Out in the Town!

[It's a great day to take a walk in Galactica, and there's all those wonderful cafes and the like. Of course, there is also something else in one of the central parks.]

[Every term, Mami tells herself she will conquer it. Every term, this happens: the drill curled young woman walks through the hedge maze, an hour into it, with a frown on her face. She is completely, and utterly, lost.]

Perhaps... left ahead? Or maybe right? Ah...

[Ban had decided to give the maze a crack and even though his sense of direction was good, he was utterly lost as Mami was.]

It would seem so, wouldn't it?

[Mami smiles, even as she sighs.] I've never figured this maze out.

It's my first year here, so I'm not surprised that I'm lost.

[Though she looked like an upperclassman to be sure.] Is this your first year or more?

My second. I couldn't figure it out last year, either. It's quite well designed.

[She nods, before she looks back at him. Mami extends a hand out.] Mami Tomoe.

[cure_fire]

[He shakes with a nod.] Kenji Ban. Nice to meet you Tomoe-senpai.

I guess we should try to find our way through this place.

A fine idea! [Mami nods her head, cheerfully.] Any thoughts on how to best do that?

Well, I thought I heard once that keeping your hand on the maze and always turning to the right was the way to get through it. But I might be mistaken on that.

[Was it the right or left that maze theory applied to?]

Hmm. It seems sound enough to me. We wouldn't end up where we were before, at least.

[She takes a right turn, then she looks sideways at Kenji. She smiles apologetically. There's more maze ahead.] A few more right turns, at least, I think.

[cure_fire]

I think so too. And there's a lot of daylight left so we're able to make a mistake if it ever comes up.

[Not to say he wanted to spend the whole day in the maze, but you know.]

I hope it doesn't take all day. Ah...

[She glances sideways at him.] What do you think of Crux Academy, thus far? While we explore.

[cure_fire]

Yeah same here.

[Ban rubbed his cheek in thought, tilting his head.] It's interesting, I have to admit. I never thought of myself as a hero type, only in drawings and such. But uh... I guess you know, being a empowered hero is really new to me, even if it isn't unknown in my hometown.

[wishingalone]

Ah. Your powers are new, after you started attending here?

[She's heard of it. Not everyone is like her; Mami had a storied career in her hometown before she started here.]

Kind of yeah. A fairy came to me and gave me this.

[He reached into his pocket and pulled out what appeared to be a perfume.] It turns me into a Precure, or so I imagine. I haven't actually tried it yet.

You haven't tried it yet?

[Iiiiiinteresting.]

Not yet. I've got a name picked out and everything but I really have no experience with it.

[wishingalone]

Fortunately, that's why you're here. You'll have many chances to learn. What's your name going to be?

I'm thinking that, yeah. Otherwise I wouldn't have come.

I'm thinking Cure Fire.

[wishingalone]

Not a bad name! If you have the fire powers to match, it will be perfect.

I'm hoping so! The fact that I've been given Precure powers is no big surprise. I kinda love them.

Ah, a fan! I imagine they must be delighted.

[cure_fire]

They have the support of the whole town. I'm glad at least one of them is here.

[He was unaware of the other Precure here.]

Oh, yes. It's good for any magical girl to have support. It reminds her why she is fighting. That's crucial to our success.

[cure_fire]

Yeah, which is why I hope I'll do well whenever I get into the fray here. I hope everyone will do well thinking good things about the others.

Practicing will help with that. If you know your abilities, you'll do much better. And you'll have help from your fellow students -- something some people don't have, when they just start out.
