With the first term of the school year in full swing, and the first few weeks going off without a hitch, clubs, intramural teams and official sports teams at both Crux Academy and Nebulae Institute have begun meeting for the first time. With a wide number of different extra curricular and other various things to do around campus outside of class, students are highly encouraged to take part in one or multiple goings-on around their school. Both schools will be hosting an involvement fair (at different times, conveniently enough) in order to bolster enrollment in the various clubs or teams, and students are encouraged to at least give these different opportunities a try.

Not seeing a club or organization that catches your fancy? That's all right! Just make one yourself. So long as you have enough members (neither school has gone into too much detail about what constitutes "enough"), and are willing to share--or fight for, as the case may be--club room or field space, then you're set!

Interested in taking a more responsible approach? Various businesses around Galactica have begun hiring part time students. While many of the jobs are more than willing to take on Crux students, there are a few establishments that seem to prefer the cunning ways of Nebulae's student body. These jobs run the gamut between retail, babysitting, hospitality--really anything.

Additionally, the vocational school for monsters is looking for assistance in getting their students real-world experience. Be it helping them terrorize the town or giving them something to fight, this volunteer work is easy enough to find, and a good way to get some real world experience. Participation is highly encouraged.

Why, thank you! And, ah, yes, we do! [She smiles, though. Quite all right. Towa's new, and she can't blame her for not knowing every member of a club. Mami sits down, happily.]

What have you cooked so far?

...for the party? [ Towa blinks. And then it sinks in. ]

.......might you....also be in the Cooking Club?

[ She done goofed. ]

[Mami smiles apologetically.]

I'm afraid so.

[ Oh no. Oh dear. Towa manages to sputter, but only because princesses don't sputter. She does bow her head, though. ] Please forgive my oversight....

It's all right! You were doing wonderfully, Towa. [She nods, encouragingly.] I'm not offended in the slightest. You can't possibly know who every club member is yet.

I trust my baking lives up to the Club's standards. [ Bit by bit Towa is slowly getting the knack of this "senpai-kohai" thing. Minus the honorifics, because who does that. ]

Oh, certainly! It all looks and smells delicious. I can't wait to try some.

[She's used to being a senpai. Always a senpai.] Do you like baking, Towa?

[ Towa actually manages to be self-assured for one of the first times since she's met Mami. In fact, she's almost regal. ] It's a necessary hobby.

...for a lady.

[ That will substitute well for "Princess", yes. She offers Mami one of the cookie trays. ] Please.

I couldn't agree more! And it's quite relaxing, too. It always puts me at ease when I bake. [She takes a cookie, with a smile.] Why, thank you!

[She takes a small bite of the cookie she took.]

[ Towa tries not to watch with undue interest, focusing instead on preparing and serving a suitable tea. But she's keeping an eye on Mami even as she busies herself with pot, hot water, and leaves.

Is her baking up to standards....? ]

[Crunch!]

[There's a moment of quiet. Really, it's short... but it may feel long.]

Oh! Towa, this is quite delicious!

[ Really? All pretense of not being interested flies out the window as Towa's face lights up. ] I'm delighted to hear that! Please, the matching tea...

[ Here you are. She is much better at serving tea than she is coffee at Starcrux. ]

Ah, matching tea with everything! I'm quite impressed!

[She sips the cup of tea.] Ah--the flavor's just light enough to match the cookie, but quite good!

Uncomplimentary refreshments would do both aspects a disservice. [ Towa's laying it on thick. But that, too, comes from being proud of herself. Mami's gentle, patient guidance was extremely appreciated. She admires the older girl! ]

Quite right! You're a natural at matching them. Ah, do you have other pairs to show off?

[She's genuinely curious. But... hooray, for impressing her kohai~]

Well, with this herbal blend, something like this....

[ More treats come to the fore! ]

All of the sweets have fairly mild flavors so as not to overpower the teas. But for a pure palate cleanser, I suggest mint.

[ Which she has both in cookies and as a tea. But not at the same time. That's too much. ]

Very good! That's the best way. [She's sampling, now. She does love her tea and desserts.]

Mint is a wonderful palate cleanser, too. Of course, one's not strictly necessary, with these!

Do you have a favorite tea, Mami? [ Her upperclassman seems knowledgeable! Asking questions about other people is a way to show interest in becoming their friend. Towa has studied interpersonal relationships between equals as diligently as she can to get the hang of this. ]

I'm quite fond of black tea! But, to tell the truth... I like most teas. Different flavors at different times, I suppose!

[And with different cookies, too.] What about you?

Ah, all sorts...though we didn't drink much green tea in my k-- home country. Exploring that has been pleasant.

[ This isn't the sort of arrangement in which one drinks green tea, though. Towa touches her cup gingerly with her fingertips. ] I've learned so much recently.

Ah? Is that so? Green tea is quite nice. It's sweet, but that helps it compliment different dishes I think.

[Mami smiles, pleasantly; it's an extra challenge to cook with.]

How do you like it here?

It's lovely. [ Towa muses to herself, not worrying as much about choosing her words anymore. ] Everyone is so accommodating. I'd no idea my own outlook had been so stifling...

I think I can grow into someone I'm proud of here.

Mm, sometimes... going some place new is what you need, to open your eyes to more possibilities.

[She nods, happily.] I'm glad you think so. It's what Crux Academy is here for, after all!
