NEW BEGINNINGS

Spring is here and newest crop of students have finally arrived at Crux Academy and Nebulae Institute. Both campuses are abuzz with activity as first years filter in, some confused, others excited and honored to be attending such a prestigious institution. Class assignments would be found on the large bulletin board toward the front of campus, and while some friends may find themselves once again sharing the same class, others will be given the opportunity to nurture new relationships with future friends (or enemies).

Classes for the first day will be short, punctuated by a welcoming ceremony led by each school's respective headmaster and headmistress, as well as an upperclassman that has some significance to the rest of the student body. Students are then permitted to take the rest of the day for themselves, to get acclimated to the campus as well as Galactica, should they so choose. Why not explore the school? Take a trip into the city? Or perhaps get to know your dorm mate, classmates or fellow faculty members? Or perhaps, if you are that sort of person, terrorize the town? The choice is yours.

Super Sonico | Crux Academy

[ Sonico's not great with directions at the best of times and the whole "magical girl at a magical girl school" business has made her a little more frazzled than she'd usually be. So, she's doing her best to make her way around the school and work out where she's going but... it's not really working. Well, that's putting it nicely -- she's completely, hopelessly lost.

So, you might find her wandering around the campus, clutching a map like it's a lifeline and shaking from head to toe. Someone's not having a great first day. ]

b. around galactica

[ once she's gotten her bearings around the school a bit, Sonico decides to take to the city to check things out and she seems far more relaxed out there than she did at Crux. She's got a big, sunny smile on her face as she takes in the city and wanders the streets with the kind of face you'd expect to see on a little kid on her way to see Santa.

For the most part, she sticks to the mall; stopping off at a cute patisserie to get some macarons (of course), nosing at the stores to see what kind of games they sell and even stopping off at the music store to have a peek at the guitars.

If you'd like to try and make friends, now might be a better time, given that she seems a little more relaxed than she did back at Crux. ]

[CRUX ACADEMY]

[ Watching the incoming first year students was always interesting, and it was fairly obvious who was here for their first time and who wasn't. This would be Lux's third year now, and by this point she was a seasoned pro when it came to first week festivities. She even volunteered to be part of the welcoming committee this year!

Seeing someone she assumed was a lost and confused student, Lux strides toward them, all smiles. ]

Hi there! You look like you could use some help.


[GALACTICA]

[ After a day of greeting people and escorting them around, it was nice to just get lost in the city. There was always something interesting to see, and shedding her uniform for something a bit more comfortable, a star-shaped pendant hanging at her chest, she moved through shops and cafes, simply looking around.

Today was a perfect day, not too hot and not too cold. Surely nothing bad would happen today. ]

[A young blond boy can be found idly sipping coffee from a trendy cafe. He's dressed sharply, although the black sunglasses seem a bit unusual in the whole ensemble.]

Oh, there you are. Could I get a scone?

[I think he thinks you're a waitress, Lux]

[ She doesn't even seem to acknowledge him as she walks by his table. As far as she's concerned, he was talking to someone else.

Wow, it was really busy here today, she wasn't sure she would have anywhere to sit... ]

[By now, Link's an old pro at these first days and every year there were at least a few students who looked a little overwhelmed by the whole thing. It was a feeling he knew well, it had been a big adjustment moving out here from a quiet country village. He's well used to it now though so the least he can do is offer a helping hand when needed.]

Hey. [Spotting Sonico he makes his way over, smiling slightly in greeting.] Do you need any help?

Nebulae Institute.

[It's newcomers day and that's so exciting! Ban improves his senior quota, root more fans up for his group, and get more parts for Mio's potions if needed! On Master's orders, he is pretty much observing everyone new and old.

Of course, when he smells food, he will wander over there. Did you bring lunch? You poor thing since he's coming up in your business.]

Hey! I smelled something good from you~ What do you have there?

Galactica.

[Out of uniform and into some more comfortable clothes, Ban is hanging around the streets humming one of his group's songs to himself. Fan or not, he is still approachable and doesn't bite! He is mostly going from shop to shop, errand running for Master and Mio.

It's a good day for mischief or "normal", but really he is just thinking on what dinner is going to be.]

NEBULAE INSTITUTE.

[ Lumina was ridiculously new. So much so that she had yet to really make any friends, and after attempting to shove herself at other people and getting properly brushed off, she decided to find somewhere with a bit of altitude to enjoy her lunch.

Sitting precariously close to a ledge, her feet dangling and kicking in the air slightly, she enjoys her lunch in solitude, people watching. Man, this place was kind of boring. Everybody was dressed the same--herself included, blech--and most of the teachers were a total snooze-fest. She needed to shake things up, obviously. After eating.

Or now, apparently, judging from the sound of somebody's voice. She looks at the newcomer from over her shoulder. ]

Just the usual slop they serve everybody else at this stuffy old school.

[ Yep, she's a ray of sunshine right now. Also totally not sharing. She skewers a piece of food and pops it in her mouth for added emphasis. Hers. Get your own. ]

GALACTICA.

[ Lux was never one to let herself fall into some stereotypical heroine role. A Crownguard was strong. A Crownguard was righteous. A Crownguard never accidentally bumped into someone because they weren't entirely paying attention.

Except for today. ]

Ahh--!

[ Thankfully it wasn't too bad of an impact, and thankfully the slightly shorter blond wasn't carrying anything that would make an immediate mess. Just a few bags filled with snacks to keep in her dorm. And maybe a few bags of clothes and other assorted things.

All of which clattered to the ground as she jumped back in shock. ]

Woah! [Boy was he there at the right time, jumping away as things scatter around him and the cute girl. Thankfully, his bag of potion ingredients is safe even if there is a dried out hand peeking out. (Look its not for him.)

Still, he picks up one of the snack bags to look at it.]

Hey, these are pretty great! You got good snack taste for a clumsy girl~

[A tug on the sleeve]

I'd like to order something.

[ Okay wow. WOW. Clumsy? She wasn't the one that suddenly slowed down. Still, a Demacian was polite, even if this boy decided to be a bit, well, frank. Carefully bending down due to her outfit, she starts to pick things up. ]

Um, thank you?

[ It was just until her roommate got settled in again. And because she had been barred from the kitchen in her dorm due to a rather nasty incident involving a microwave and a bowl of vegetables.

That poor microwave.

Still, she tries to take it in stride. He probably didn't mean to be a jerk about it. Probably. ]

One of my classmates turned me on to them.

Huh?

[ Excuse you. She pulls her arm away, looking both confused and a little irked. Yeah, and what did that have to do with her. ]

So then order something?

I might have to get some later! Been a while since I had them.

[Might as well be "nice" for now since no need to cause more trouble while doing stuff for his Master and all. Ban picks up whatever stuff is around him while making sure all of his stuff is still together from the crash.

Master has priority and he probably wouldn't like it if Ban just causes a mess without him. Even with the layers on his clothes, there is certainly a pure black ring that screams darkness and magical about it.

With a simple juggle, he tosses the bags one by one back into Lux's bag.]

There you go! Treats saved! Be careful or I might end up taking one for myself fufu~

[If a fanged grin can be cute, then he is pulling it off.]

I better get going. I still got tons of stuff to do before I go back to Master~

[ Blank stare. You really did want her to hold your hand, didn't you? She sighs, entirely too self-important to deal with this. But she would be a terrible representative of her school if she didn't help. ]

Fine. But just this once.

[ She walks toward the front to put in his order for him. He was probably new around here, or from a world where things like manners didn't exist.

Returning after a moment, she puts a hand on her hip. ]

There. They said it would be right out.

Y'know, you're probably new to this so I'll just mention, you're not gonna get a good tip acting like that.

You could probably also stand to unbutton your top a bit. Waitresses tend to do better if they flash a bit of boob.

[This is the worst thing that could have happened.

After having enjoyed an existence as the Freakazoid of magical girls and getting all the perks of being a heroine with little of the effort and all of the slack, Madoka The Goddess Of The Cicles Before Homura Screwed It All Up finally saw she was an inept Magical Girl, and thus sent her here.

As of now, she was more panicked over the fact she had absolutely no manga or anime DVDs in here.]

O-Oi! This is too sudden! Where is the nearest manga store!? Where am I going to store my figures!? Can I have a computer in here with games and is 4chan unblocked by the network!?

[The five feet tall squeak pulls the first person she sees by her arms, in utter terror at the fact she will have to work for the first time in her life.]

B. GALACTICA



[Needless to say, Konata either didn't bother or outright forgot to get herself out of her magical girl regalia, so now she is walking along the streets, bag in hand as if she was in Akibahara, looking at the glasses in some admiration.]

Ooooh... some new canons! If I get the chance to bring some of that up in my dorm, it will be a fun experience to witness! This world might not be so bad...

[ Wait. He thought--

It all clicks, and while she should probably take this whole thing and laugh, the last comment he makes negates any humor from the situation. ]

Excuse me?

[ Wow, he had really good aim. Color her impressed. Looking from her bag back to the strange redhead, Lux blinks a few times. ]

Master?

Hey, it ain't polite but it works. You're pretty cute, if you show a bit of cleavage and sweeten your attitude I'll bet you make twice what you're pulling now, easy.

Huh?

[ Feeling a tug on her sleeve, Lux turns slowly, seeing the likewise short girl practically trembling in fear. Oh, you must be new. She didn't really understand anything you were talking about, but she'll play along at least. ]

You should have everything you need in your dorm room, don't worry.

[ Lux Crownguard, light of Demacia and friendly welcoming committee member, at your service and missing the point completely! ]

[ She sputters. ]

I don't know where you come off, but I'll have you know that, one, I have no desire to "unbutton my top a bit," and two don't even work here! I put in your order with one of the wait staff out of common courtesy. You know, manners? That thing you don't have? You would do well to learn some!

[Konata bows deeply for what she immediately identifies as a professor in a skill she mastered with Ms. Kuroi, and the rest of the staff of her school in her universe. She rises back up just as quickly.]

But I mean-- I won't have to live on a steady diet of ramen, will I!? I have so much to live for! I... [Konata realizes this teacher has absolutely no idea what she is babbling about.] I mean manga! Comics! Movies! En-to-tainment! I left all of my stuff in my room back home!
