[ There's a nice wind blowing over this academy.

Haruka can feel it as she parks her motorcycle next to the athletic fields, the early-morning sun catching in her hair when she removes her helmet. It whistles around the buildings and embraces the students, already hard at work to fulfill their full potential and defend the Earth.

And it's Haruka's Mission to ensure they're ready.

She takes a deep breath. Then, smiling, she swings herself off her motorcycle and heads to the track to set up and test their equipment. Might as well see what they're dealing with...

Don't walk too close to the track on the way to class, students. You might get distracted by the sight of the phys ed teacher not only clearing the highest possible bar for high jumping, but doing so in slow motion, sparkles streaming from her body, with room to spare.

The twirl before she lands on the mats is just overkill. ]

[ It was still a bit chilly when Lux made her way to the track, the young blond reluctant to slip off her jacket. She never did do well with the cold. But with the various clubs gearing up to start in the next week or two, she would need to get back in practice again, and that meant upping her running regimen. They would be marching soon in color guard.

...Wait, what was that motorcycle doing here? Ugh, some people just had no respect whatsoever.

Making her way to the track, she sat down near the sidelines, tying her hair back into a ponytail, Lux slipped out of her jack with a shiver and began to stretch. She was used to seeing a few die hearts take to the track this morning, but it seemed strange to see actual equipment set up. Was the track team starting practices early, or..?

Then she sees it. A person like the wind, practically floating over the high jump. Caught in mid-stretch, Lux sat there in awe, likely looking completely and utterly ridiculous. ]

[ The person in question hits the mats almost weightlessly, and lies there for a moment staring up at the sky just for the sheer appreciation of its blueness (or something). Then, sensing someone's eyes on her, her own gaze flicks over without turning her head.

A smile cracks across her face.

After that she finds her footing soon enough, running a hand through her bangs so they'll fall back into place after being tousled by the jump. ] Hold a pose too long and you'll strain something.

[ You totally meant to be stretching this whole time, right? ]

[ Well, someone just got caught staring. That was awkward.

Quickly scrambling to her feet, the blond brushes herself off, trying to play this uncomfortable moment off as best as she could. ]

R-right, I must have zoned out or something...

[ Watching you soar through the sky like--

Okay, Lux you really need to focus. She chuckles a bit awkwardly. ]

I didn't think that anyone else would be out here so early.

[ Haruka shrugs. ] It's the best time.

[ Here's a smile. This girl must be a student. And if she's already exercising, she's a devoted one.... ] Only the most dedicated people are around.

[Yuni, technically, isn't supposed to be here. By all means, she is a Nebulae student and should be getting ready to turn in her fifteen page essay on Villain Fabulousness.]

[Yet after working so hard, well, she's wanted to indulge some of her curiosity. The memories of both her mother and her grandmother have been passed down to her thanks to her status as the Arcobaleno of the Sky, and she knows about the connection between the two schools. 'Know your enemy' and all that, right?]

[Well, that, and she thinks some of the lessons on being a Magical Defender could be handy. She is protecting something important, after all, even if she's not exactly on the side of good.]

[So she wanders about Crux early one morning, curious and wearing its standard white. When she passes by the track, she has to pause. Faintly, she's reminded of her uncle and her aunt- both with the effortless physical display and the beauty of the teacher in question.]

[When she lands, Yuni finds it only appropriate to clap and give a bright smile.]

I'm not sure if I'd call myself the most dedicated.

[ But the compliment was nice.

Was he a student? He didn't look old enough to be a teacher. ]

But I want to be ready for when clubs start. What about you?

[ Oh, hey, other people exist. Haruka glances over and grins, then hoists herself off the landing mats. She's not the right kind of smug to bow, but nothing about her body language seems to dislike the applause, either.

Wandering over, she looks at this student with interest. Up and at 'em already, huh? ] Early rising shows initiative.

[ Very good. Sensei approves. ]

[ Make her sound like she knows what she's doing, why don't you. Haruka tips her head back towards the track and field equipment. ] Better than boredom.

Which club? [ Though there's no motor sports here, are there. It's not quite....ruffly....enough.

Haruka has never particularly cared about the image expected of her, though. ]

Color guard and lacrosse. What about you? Are you in any clubs?

[ Haruka laughs. ] Not quite.

[ Guess who's gonna be a jerk and not say she's a teacher. First two guesses don't count. ] They'd be hard-pressed to fit in a racing circuit....

[ She looks out over the track and her expression softens, imagining race cars ~~and getting even hotter~~. The things she sacrifices For Her Mission. But she has no regrets. ]

A racing circuit?

[ Brow furrowed slightly, Lux blinks a few times, trying to parse together the connection. Part of track is about racing each other and the clock, right? So then what was the problem? ]

Motor sports. [ Haruka says it the same way ~~she~~ some people say the names of their lovers - fond, but with reverence. Silkily, too.

Using that tone of voice this close to another human being is probably not the best idea if Haruka wants them to listen to her, but she doesn't seem aware. ] The wind blows even more refreshingly there.

[ Her gaze drifts to that motorcycle and lingers. Lux has found the person with the gall to ride a bike to school.

Hooray? ]

[It's at least an hour before class that Kirino found himself at the athletic fields.

He'd been looking for the soccer field but... well, obviously the track wasn't it. But that didn't mean he couldn't watch for a while though, right?

At the end of it, when Haruka lands on the mats... Kirino puts down his soccer ball, setting a foot on top of it so it doesn't roll away, and claps.] That was impressive!

Motor sports?

[ She wasn't familiar with that term, but as Haruka glances over at the motor cycle, it all begins to make a bit more sense. That was his? He used that for racing? How strange. Why not just run? ]

Hmm? I wonder if it has anything to do with the world itself.

[ Uh oh. That look on her face. Haruka might recognize it from a certain blue-haired brainiac she knows. Better stop her before she goes on a ~~nerd~~ tangent! ]

[ Yes, Haruka thinks she can see where this is going. And it's cute. ] Athletic and thoughtful.

[ Her grin sharpens. ] You're the perfect student, kitten.

[ Haruka turns as she picks herself off the mats in search of the applause. Ah. More athletes up to explore the grounds.

She shrugs off the compliment - smiles, though - and nods at the ball. She remembers her soccer phase. It didn't last long (but nothing ever did. She was just too good at everything. Haruka's life is so hard.) ] The field's not far from here, if you're looking.

[ Tsubasa, ever diligent, had already memorised the staff roster back to front before arriving. So there she was watching the other teacher do her jump (and making a note of the motorcycle).

Tsubasa's pretty sure she could make the jump ~~because she's a flippin' ninja~~, but she's not so sure about the sparkling and slow motion. Oh, making a show of things comes easily to her of course, what with her previous career as an idol singer, but she's pretty sure she can't defy physics like that.

(She can defy physics in other ways.) ]

I didn't even know you could add that much flair to a high jump.

[ She would have gone with pyrotechnics, personally. ]

[ Congratulations, Haruka, you have found a way to not only completely derail her, but also get a bit of a rising blush out of the girl. ]

I wouldn't go that far.

[ She laughs a bit bashfully. ]

But thank you. I'm Lux, and you are?

[For all intents and purposes, Kamala couldn't sleep.

Her first few chaotic days had been less than stellar, and she could swear she didn't knit her ribs properly. One of the few "magical girls" blessed with healing, it was clear that she was still nursing her middle when she noticed Haruka there.

Ducking behind the wall, she paused for a moment, as her body shifted without her knowing to one of Carols' forms, the usual Ms Marvel outfit replaced by a new sweat suit.]

Huh... I guess I'm not the only one up. Cool.

[At least it's being well received. When she's complimented herself, Yuni blushes just slightly but keeps her smile on.]

I wanted to get a feel for the school, ah... [Is it a man or a woman or someone else?] Teacher!

This is my first year attending school like this, after all.

Haruka. [ Teachers don't need to give last names. Last names are overrated. So is identifying yourself early on as someone in a position of power.

Especially to someone who has apparently been here longer than one has. So! Enter the solicitous version of that smile. ] I hope you'll take good care of me.

What year are you in? [ Homeschooled? Maybe something else. Not Haruka's concern. ]

[ Haruka has no idea what this other person is talking about. She just jumped. Whatever. This is her way.

So she chuckles to herself and unfolds, more than stands, up off the mat - completely effortless, completely at ease, no excess movement. Poetry in motion. That's her. ] You're the other PE teacher?

[ And here she is in her full glory and she has more height on Tsubasa than Kanade did. Oops. ] Here's to the school year, Sensei.

[ Wink. Slightly sardonic wink. ]

[ Haruka remains lying on the mat for a moment, but she smiles to herself when she notices movement off to one side. Then she's sitting up, shrugging. ] Punctuality's a virtue.

[ Have a smile. ] Did you need to use this?

Ah, no not really. Just taking a walk this morning.

[Kamala would have joined in, but lately she had been feeling a little down from how she handled the previous monsters.] You're a teacher here I take it?
